The Energy and Water Regulatory Commission issued an Electricity Trading License No Л-480-15 dated 20th October 2016 to Mini Maritsa Iztok EAD, and thus continued the Company`s rights to trade in electricity. Mini Maritsa Iztok EAD preparation to participate in the electricity market started as far back as 10 years ago. The Company received its first Electricity Trading License on 20th November 2006. It was issued by the State Energy and Water Regulatory Commission by Decision No. 1-213-15 dated 20th November 2006.
Mini Maritsa Iztok EAD is supplied with electricity from the Day Ahead Market exchange segment and from the Bilateral Contracts segment through the Auctions and Continuous Trading screens. By using the possibilities offered by the Independent Bulgarian Energy Exchange EAD additional savings are made due to the participation of the Company in the shortest-term segment involving physical delivery – the Intraday Market.
Energy supply at Mini Maritsa Iztok EAD is implemented through the Company`s own 110 kV power supply grid consisting of 20 pieces of power transmission lines that have a total length of 171 km, and 16 pieces of 110 kV substations. Pursuant to Ordinance No 8 regulating the activity of the electric power system operators, Mini Maritsa Iztok EAD has delegated rights for autonomous grid operation control through the Automated Dispatching Control System (ADCS) built.
